The Naural History
Museum in Dortmund, Germany, is a fairly small museum, but it has quite a few
nice exhibits, such as a collection of huge amonites (right) and full-scale
models of an iguanadon and of a styracosaurus (below and right), which are both
slightly out of date. There is also a cast of the biggest footprint ever found
and a case showing how the models were made. The Tyrannosaurus head is also
pretty impresive. The eggs and droppings were fantastic too.
Das Museum für
Naturkunde in Dortmund ist zwar klein, aber es hat einige schönen
Ausstellungsstücke, wie zum Beispiel eine Sammlung von riesigen Amoniten
(links) und Modellen in Originalgröße von einem Iguanadon und von
einem Styracosaurus (links-unten). Diese sind aber etwas veraltert. Ebenfalls
gibt es einen Abguss des größten bekannten Dinosaurier -
Fußabdruckes. Ein anderes Ausstellungsstück zeigt, wie die Modelle
hergestellt wurden. Der Tyrannosaurus Schädel ist auch nicht schlecht. Die
Dinosauriereier und das Dinosaurierkot sind auch ziemlich gut.Another nice thing is the small aquarium with lots of interesting fish. Also there is a mine, which you can visit. There was one thing I personally didn't like about the museum: they have lots of stuffed animals (but that's just my personal opinion). Apart from that, there is also a section with lots of rocks, minerals and fossilized tree trunks. And their meteorite collection isn't bad either.
Also if you want to show off your own collection you can do this in two display cases provided for this purpose.
Ebenfalls schön ist das kleine Aquarium mit vielen interesannten Fischen. Es gibt auch ein Bergwerk, das man besichtigen kann. Es gibt jedoch etwas, das mir weniger gefällt: Es gibt zu viele ausgestopfte Tiere (aber das ist nur meine persönliche Meinung). Außerdem gibt es noch eine Abteilung mit Mineralien, Steinen und versteinerten Baumstämmen. Die Meteoriten sind auch nicht schlecht.
Wer Lust hat, kann in zwei Vitrinen seine eigene Sammlung zum Ausstellungsstück machen.
