Mèze is in the
department of Hérault on the Mediterranean coast of France near the port
of Sète.
It's an open-air museum with skeletons and realistic reconstructions. When you arrive, it's best to watch the introductory video (unfortunately it's only in French) which tells you about the geology and palaeontology of the region. As you go around there are informative displays and information boards on different subjects, such as eggs and the history of the Earth.

Es ist ein Freiluftmuseum mit vielen Skeletten und realistischen Rekonstruktionen. Wenn man ankommt, sollte man sich das Einführungsvideo ansehen (leider ist nur in Französisch). Das Video beschreibt die Geologie und die Paläontologie der Region. Während man herum geht, sieht man informierende und interessante Vitrinen über verschiedene Themen, z.B. Eier und Geschichte der Erde.
Even before you get there, look out for the head of the brachiosaur skeleton peering out above the treetops. It's the largest complete dinosaur skeleton in the world!
Sogar bevor man ankommt, sieht man den Kopf von dem Brachiosaurusskelett, dem größten kompletten Dinosaurierskelett der Welt!
There is an excellent comparison of the skulls of Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. This shows you the difference in size between the skulls of these two carnivors and how much bigger the skull is when you add the flesh to the bones.
Es gibt auch ein exzellenten Vergleich zwischen den Schädeln von Tyrannosaurus und Giganotosaurus. Dies zeigt den Größenunterschied zwischen den Schädeln dieser beiden Fleischfresser. Man sieht auch, wie viel größer der Schädel wird, wenn man Fleisch zu den Knochen bringt.
My favourite display is the deinonychus pack. There are three of them and they look very realistic. If you click on the picture on the right you will see two deinonychus photos. One shows you a hunting deinonychus and the other shows you the same picture describing what the different parts of this vicious dinosaur do.
Meine Lieblingsmodelle sind die Deinonychus auf der Jagt. Es gibt drei davon und sie sehen sehr echt aus. Wenn du auf das linke Bild klickst, siehst du zwei Deinonychusfotos. Eines zeigt einen jagenden Deinonychus und das andere zeigt den Aufbau eines Deinonychus und beschreibt, wozu die einzelnen Teile dieses fuchtbaren Dinosauriers dienen.
There is also a cast of the famous archaeopteryx found in a Bavarian quarry. I was very impressed by this because you could actually see the feathers. (If you want to learn more about how birds evolved from dinosaurs, click here.)
Es gibt auch ein Replika des berühmten Archäopteryx, der in einem bayerischen Steinbruch gefunden wurde. Ich war sehr beeindruckt davon, da man die einzelnen Federn sehen konnte. Wenn du mehr über die evolution der Vögel lernen willst, dann klicke hier.)
In Mèze they also have a large slab of rock with dinosaur footprints. There are at least two different dinosaur tracks visible, one of a sauropod and one of a theropod. Perhaps the theropod was chasing its lunch!
In Mèze gibt es auch einen großen Stein mit Fußspuren von einem Sauropoden und einem Theropoden. Vielleicht verfolgte der Theropod sein Mittagessen!
